Fighting ISIS in Iraq postpones import of Iranian gas
organization will delay a plan to export natural gas to Iraq.
The official website of the ministry quoted the minister that” the turmoil in Iraq has caused the postponement of gas exports.
A part of the pipeline, which is still under construction on the Iraqi side passes in the territory controlled by ISIS organization as the pipeline workers, mostly Iranians were exposed to attacks several times, especially in Diyala province, causing stop in its work.
It was not clear yet the date for the completion date of the new gas pipeline.
Under an agreement signed in 2012, Iran began exporting gas to Iraq in 2014 via a new pipeline feeds three stations to generate electricity in Iraq.
