Cabinet approves three investment contracts in the electric power field

, the establishment and maintenance of power stations.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Committee’s Chairman , Bahaa al-Araji, the latter chaired on Monday, the fifth meeting of the Energy Committee in the Council of Ministers.

The statement added that the committee decided to approve granting Carr Company for the production of electrical energy , investment license of Rumaila stations by (730) MW and Shatt al-Basra station with a power of (625) MW for 15 years and organizing operation and maintenance contract of simple cycle for (17.5) years.

The statement said that the committee decided to approve the request of the Ministry of Electricity to proceed the contract with GE company with the form of investment project for the establishment and maintenance of a workshop, while the Committee agreed to accept the offers of the American GE company being the manufacturer with the lowest prices and on the basis of prior approval of the Energy Committee.

The statement noted to the committee’s approval on signing an investment contract with ALDHAHIR company to establish Investment station with a capacity of 1000 MW south of Baghdad.

The Energy Committee has announced on Monday, of some transferring power plants for investment to support and develop the private sector in the country.
