Baghdad International Airport announces advanced figures in passenger traffic during the first quarter of the year

“Under the guidance and follow-up of the Minister of Transport , Baqer al-Zubaidi , Baghdad International Airport has achieved during the first quarter of this year, a good performance and remarkable growth in passenger traffic, where the total number of passengers came through the airport reached (532 316) thousand passengers,” According to a statement issued by the Directorate.
The statement added that "the statistics issued by the Planning Department at the General Establishment of Civil Aviation showed that March has witnessed a marked increase in passenger numbers as the number of arrivals reached (91.559) while the number of departures was (103.523) as the total number reached (195.082) passengers which is a high percentage from the previous months. "
For his part, Director General of Civil Aviation , Samer Kubba also said in the statement that "This statistic confirms the rapid growth of Baghdad International Airport, and this is what enhances Iraq geographical location among the countries in the region and progress in the level of services provided to passengers after remarkable improvements in terms of commitment in departure times and access and increasing numbers of destinations to the countries of the world. "
Kubba predicted that this steady growth in passenger numbers continue to escalate in the coming months, especially after opening two gates in Karbala for pilgrims , Umrah performers and visitors to the holy shrines and Samarra, "noting that" all of this will make us able not only to accommodate the increasing growth of passenger numbers, but improve what we offer to them. "
