Iraq to increase the production of three types of trucks

Shafaq News / The General Director of the General Company for Automobile Industry and Equipment, one of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals companies, Hafiz Abboud Majeed, announced on Sunday the expansion of truck assembly lines to increase production, to cover the needs of ministries, governorates and the local market in Iraq.

Majeed said in a statement today, that the company has an integrated line to assemble Renault trucks at a rate of 100% at a production rate of 3 trucks/day, and has been keen to expand the line to assemble Isuzu trucks to meet the ministries and market requirements for this type of truck that is cheaper and more efficient, with a production rate of 5 trucks/day, in addition to an assembly line of Volvo trucks and a production rate of 3 to 4 trucks/day due to the high demand.

He stressed that the company is looking to increase the production lines of trucks and reach a percentage of High assembly of trucks (Isuzu and Volvo) up to 90% in line with the market openness and meets local needs.

Majeed referred to the contracts concluded with the governorates to equip them with machinery, specialized equipment, trucks, compressors, fixed bodies and tipping, such as Diyala, Nineveh, Al-Diwaniyah, and Baghdad.
