Iraq releases a list of the biggest Iraqi oil importers for August

Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced, on Tuesday, that Indian oil companies were the biggest buyers of Iraqi oil in August.

The ministry stated, in an official tally published on its official website and viewed by Shafaq News Agency, that 8 out of 29 companies on the Buyers list were Indian.

The ministry added, "Chinese companies came in second place with 7 companies, followed by American companies with 4 and South Korean companies came with three companies. Italy had two companies. Greece, Turkey, Russia and Britain with one company each".

The ministry indicated, "the most prominent Indian companies that bought Iraqi oil are the Hindustan and Bharat Petroleum companies, while the most prominent Chinese companies were Petrochina and Cnooc companies. The most prominent American companies that bought Iraqi oil were ExxonMobil, Chevron, Italian ENI and the British BP".

The Indian Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas announced last August 21 that Iraq came first as India's largest supplier during July.

The data of the General Administration of Customs in China announced on September 25 that Iraq came third in its oil exports to China after Russia and Saudi Arabia, as Iraqi shipments to China reached 4.5 million tons in August, equivalent to 1.05 million barrels per day.
