COVID-19: 20 fatalities and 573 new cases in Kurdistan today

Shafaq News / The Minister of Health in Kurdistan Region, Saman Barzanji announced on Sunday that 20 fatalities and 573 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the past 24 hours.

In a joint press conference with the South Korean Consul in the region, Barzanji said that South Korea provided the region with medical equipment and devices, expressing his thanks to the Korean government supporting the government and people of Kurdistan.

Barzanji stressed the need to continue adhering to the preventive measures, maintain social distancing, adding that the region is seeking to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine.

The minister said that the ministry conducted 5311 new tests, 573 of which showed positive results.

274 patients had achieved full recovery, while 20 fatalities were registered, as by Barzanji.
