Border Crossings register 500 bn dinars' one month after the army took control

Shafaq News/ The Border Crossings Authority announced, on Monday, registering 500 billion dinars' profits one month after the army took control of the crossings.

 

In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the Joint Operations Command said, "under the direction of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Joint Operations Command and the Border Crossings Authority held a joint meeting today, Monday, to assess security measures and law enforcement in all border crossings that have become the responsibility of the Iraqi army units".

 

The statement added, "The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, and attended by the Commander of the Naval Force and the Head of the Border Crossings Authority, Omar Al-Waeli, and several commanders of the divisions involved in protecting the crossings. The meeting touched upon the work process, the improvement implemented and the flexibility of the work process", stressing that this will have a positive impact on the crossing's functionality.

 

The statement quoted the head of the Border Crossings Authority saying, "The presence of the security forces from the army has greatly contributed to securing the security environment inside the crossings, which was reflected in providing profits to the national income by about five hundred billion Iraqi dinars within one month, and stopping more than 1073 violations".

 

"The meeting came out with a number of recommendations and decisions aimed at enhancing security at the border crossings, as well as preparing for the opening of other border crossing that were closed due to the security situation," the statement added.
