The Security Media Cell stated in a statement, "At five o'clock today, Tuesday, local time, the Basra Operations Command imposed a security operations in the north of Basra.
The Rapid Response Division also commenced duties in the Al-Uzair region, south of Maysan Governorate, to arrest wanted persons and confiscate unauthorized weapons.
Last Saturday, the Basra Operations Command launched a security operation that includes confiscating heavy and light weapons in some areas of Basra Governorate, especially the areas that witness Ashaeri conflicts.
