Shafaq News / The demonstrators in Basra, in the south of the country, escalated their protests on Tuesday, calling for the dismissal of Governor Asaad Al-Eidani and the general directors.

 

The protests in Basra have escalated since Friday, against the assassination of the activist Tahsin Osama by unknown gunmen in the city center.

 

 According to Shafaq News Agency reporter, hundreds of demonstrators went from Al-Bahariya Square to the police command in Al-Tuwaisa area to demand the dismissal of the governor and the two general directors asking to appoint new Competent and honest persons, as well as to expedite the trial of the killers of demonstrators and activists.

 

Earlier,  Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi  dismissed the chief of police, Lieutenant General Rashid Falih, and the director of National Security in the governorate.
