On Thursday, Iraq's Basrah crude edged lower despite a surge in global oil prices.
Basrah Heavy crude fell 0.39% to $63.77 per barrel, and Basrah Medium crude declined 0.38%, reaching $65.62 per barrel.
Brent crude futures rose 17 cents, or 0.27%, to $63.69 a barrel by 0455 GMT. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures increased 18 cents, or 0.3%, to $59.78.
