The Lebanese Army said on Wednesday that itsunits had begun taking measures to establish operational controlin designated areas in southern Lebanon, in coordination withthe military coordination group for Lebanon.

Israeli continued attacks, demolitionsand explosions in southern Lebanon violated international law,threatened existing understandings and arrangements, hindered itsefforts to restore stability, and violatedLebanon’s sovereignty and security, the army stated, adding that as apart of the measures, it established six fixed checkpoints and 13observation posts on roads leading to and inside the townsof Zawtar al-Gharbiya, Frun and Srifa. It also deployed foot andvehicle patrols around the clock.

“The measures included removing andconfiscating weapons and unexploded ordnance, while preventing thepresence of armed groups and unauthorized activities inaccordance with Lebanese law.”

The army said it had seized about 1,818 weapons andammunition items, including 10 rocket-launching platforms, seven rockets, sixdrones, 10 aerial bombs, and about 1,560 small-arms ammunition items,along with a large number of mines and explosive devices.

“Units had reopened roads covering a total ofabout 12 kilometers and searched several homes in accordance withLebanese law and with the consent of their owners,” the armynoted, adding that residents had cooperated with its effortsto remove hazards and war remnants.

In Zawtar al-Gharbiya, about 70% of residents had been ableto return to the town and inspect their properties, while only 16% hadpermanently resettled, representing about 60 families out of450, the army said. It added that 85% of homes had been destroyed and15% partially damaged.

The army accused Israeli forces of failing tocomply with the framework agreement, saying it had recordedabout 7,700 violations since the agreement was signed onJune 26, 2026. It also reported gunfire near army personneland patrols.

Repeated attacks and violations,particularly the latest incidents, had caused a new wave ofdisplacement from areas previously considered safe,undermining the army’s credibility inside Lebanon and before theinternational community. “Ending the attacks and violations wasessential to completing its deployment and carrying out itsduties under the framework agreement,” the army stressed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday said Israel was “very close” to defeating Iran’s government and vowed to prevent any “terror army” from establishing itself along Israel’s border.

“We are committed to defeating the terror regime in Iran, and we will do so,” Netanyahu said from the Syrian side of Mount Hermon (Jabal al-Shaikh). During the same visit, he said that the Iran-aligned Axis of Resistance, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Yemen’s Houthis (Ansarallah), Palestinian groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and several Shiite armed factions in Iraq, would ultimately collapse.

Israeli forces moved into the UN-monitored buffer zone in southern Syria after Bashar Al-Assad’s government collapsed in December 2024 and have since maintained positions in the area.

A UN commission said on Sept. 8 that Israel’s military presence had become increasingly entrenched, while Israel says the deployment is temporary and intended to protect its border.

Shafaq News- Sanaa

A Yemeni government airstrike reportedly hit a meeting of senior Houthi (Ansarallah) commanders in Al-Barh, west of Taiz, on Wednesday, with military sources saying Houthi-appointed Defense Minister Mohammed Nasser Al-Atifi was among those present.

Yemeni and regional outlets, citing military sources, reported that those inside the building had been killed. The reports could not be independently verified, and the Houthis had issued no confirmation or denial at the time of publication. Al-Atifi’s fate remained unclear.

Al-Atifi was targeted in an Israeli strike on a Houthi government meeting in Sanaa in August 2025. Houthi media later showed him at a cabinet meeting in January 2026, saying he had recovered from injuries sustained in the attack.

National Resistance military media said on Sept. 8 that government aircraft had struck Houthi reinforcements in Al-Barh and Al-Kadha in western Taiz.

Separately, the Houthis said Saudi forces carried out 32 airstrikes overnight across Taiz, Hodeidah, Jawf and Marib.

Shafaq News- Gaza

Gaza hospitals received the bodies of seven Palestinians over the past 24hours, including two people newly killed, one who died from previous injuries,and four whose bodies were recovered from rubble, while 25 people were injured,the Gaza Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

The death toll since the Oct. 11, 2025 ceasefire had reached1,358, while 4,541 people had been injured and 831 bodies recovered, accordingto the ministry. The overall death toll since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to73,669, with 174,652 people injured.

Separately, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said on Wednesday that hisgovernment does not plan to forcibly relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.He added that Israel would not oppose Palestinians leaving voluntarily ifanother country agreed to receive them, but would not force anyone to leave.

On Sept. 2, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said therewas no lasting solution for Gaza without the emigration of Palestinians fromthe territory.On Sept. 3, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir presented a seven-yearplan to remove Gaza’s population through “voluntary emigration.”

The Al-Zahiriyyah Library in the Syrian capital, Damascus,preserves a scholarly and cultural legacy spanning nearly eight centuries,housing about 171,000 books and volumes alongside a collection of raremanuscripts documenting Arab and Islamic science and culture.

The library was founded in 1277 during the reign of SultanAl-Zahir Baybars, one of the most prominent rulers of the Mamluk Sultanate, aspart of the Al-Zahiriyyah Madrasa in Damascus Old City near the Umayyad Mosque.

Al-Zahiriyyah began as a residential religious school beforegradually becoming a center for preserving books and manuscripts and attractingscholars and researchers. Its collections expanded over the decades throughdonations and the incorporation of holdings from other libraries.

In 1919, it became Syria’s national library and wasaffiliated with the Arabic Language Academy in Damascus.

Ahmed Al-Saeed, head of the library's Archives andOrganization Department, told Shafaq News that the library had received 4,612manuscripts as gifts from scholars and researchers, along with 1,206 printedbooks donated to its collection.

The collection also grew through the incorporation ofseveral private libraries, including those of Abdullah Pasha, Suleiman Pasha,and Mulla Othman Al-Kurdi, adding greater variety to its scholarly holdings.

The library currently has two reading halls furnished withwooden tables and chairs. Bookshelves line the stone walls, while decoratedfloors and carved wooden ceilings feature floral and geometric motifs, withchandeliers hanging overhead.

The building also houses the tombs of Sultan Al-ZahirBaybars and his son, Al-Malik Al-Said Baraka Khan, set within an ornatelydecorated architectural space. The tombs underwent renovation in 2007 usingalabaster marble as part of a partnership between Syria and Kazakhstan.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Tuesdaythat it has developed the ability to respond to attacks by striking up to 20targets for every two or three Iranian targets hit by an adversary.

During a meeting with media executives in Iran’s centralMarkazi province, IRGC spokesman Brig. Gen. Hossein Mahbi said the war had notended and that Iran faced further phases of the conflict.

Mahbi also outlined “Iran’s conditions” for restoringregional stability and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, calling for a completeend to the war, an end to further threats against Iran, the withdrawal ofIsraeli forces from Lebanon, an end to the blockade of Yemen, and the releaseof $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets.

He also demanded that Iran’s nuclear and missilecapabilities remain free from outside interference, describing them as thecountry’s sovereign right. “Under a religious ruling, Iran’s nuclear programhad never been directed toward producing nuclear weapons and would not be inthe future.”

An explosion at a temporary facility used to collect weaponsand war debris near Sarmada in northern Idlib province on Wednesday killed 14 people and injured others, according to a toll released by Idlib Media Directorate. 

The Defense Ministry’s Media and Communications Department toldstate-run SANA that the explosion injured several ministry employees.

In August, 2025, anexplosion rocked western Idlib, Syria, leaving six people dead, including achild, and injuring eight others.

In July, 18 people were killed in two separate explosions, one at an ammunition depot belonging tothe Turkistan Islamic Party in northern Idlib Province, and another at weapons depots in the towns of Kafriya and Foua innorthern Idlib countryside.

Shafaq News- Jerusalem

Israel has ordered the United Kingdom to close itsconsulate in East Jerusalem within 30 days in response to British sanctionstargeting Israeli settlements, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing Israeliofficials and sources familiar with the matter.

The consulate handles UK government affairs related toPalestinians in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza, maintaining a diplomaticpresence in the city dating to 1839. Its staff will lose diplomatic status oncethe deadline expires.

UK personnel assigned to the US-led Gaza coordinationmission in Israel, along with British diplomats based in Ramallah, have alsobeen given seven days to leave, according to Reuters.

The UK joined France and Canada on Tuesday in imposingsanctions over Israeli settlements in the West Bank. London barred imports ofgoods produced there, and targeted companies and individuals involved inconstruction, infrastructure, financing, and real estate services. France andCanada introduced similar import restrictions, while nine other countries,including Denmark and Portugal, backed the British action.

Speaking to the BBC, UK Foreign Secretary Ed Milibandexpressed regret over the consulate closure, but said the decision wasexpected. A day before the Israeli order, he accused Israel of having “turned ablind eye” to settler violence against Palestinians.

Further restrictions include barring the UK fromtraining Palestinian security forces in the West Bank and prohibiting 12British lawmakers and other nationals from entering Israel, among them formerLabour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, Reuters said.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar on Tuesdaycondemned London’s actions as “morally distorted” and accused the UK ofinterfering in Israeli domestic affairs ahead of next month’s election. Reutersnoted that Israel is considering additional steps against countries thatimposed or supported the sanctions.

Israel captured the West Bank and East Jerusalem inthe 1967 war. Around 700,000 Israeli settlers live in roughly 160 settlementsacross the two territories alongside about 3.3 million Palestinians. Most ofthe international community considers the settlements illegal underinternational law, a position Israel disputes.

The Palestinian Colonization and Wall ResistanceCommission documented 2,256 incidents across the West Bank in July, including1,458 attributed to the Israeli military and 798 to settlers. At least 1,183Palestinians, including 210 children, have been killed in the territory sinceOctober 2023, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted, on Wednesday, Jordan’s al-Azraq Air Base with heavy ballistic missiles in response to US strikes on Iranian oil tankers, warning that it would continue military operations as long as US attacks persist.

In a statement, the IRGC said its Aerospace Force carried out an operation dubbed “Punishing the Aggressors,” striking al-Azraq base with solid- and liquid-fueled ballistic missiles and targeting a maintenance and repair facility, an aircraft preparation facility, sites it said were used to station US F-35, F-16 and F-15 fighter jets, as well as aircraft shelters.

Earlier today, regional media reported missile interception activity over the northern city of Irbid and said Iranian missiles had entered the Kingdom’s airspace.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that its forces had destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers linked to the IRGC following two Iranian attempts to target a US warship with ballistic missiles over the previous two days.

US forces struck five crude oil tankers linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday, putting them out of service after two Iranian attempts to target a US warship with ballistic missiles over the past two days, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

CENTCOM said the US Navy ship evaded both attacks and continued patrolling regional waters. No American personnel suffered injuries.

The command identified four of the tankers as Kaviz, Charminar, Horizon 1 and Riesco, which US forces targeted in the Gulf of Oman. American forces also struck the Derya near Iran’s Kharg Island.

CENTCOM said it instructed the crews to leave the vessels before carrying out the strikes. It described the tankers as part of a multibillion-dollar “shadow network” that finances the IRGC and allied armed groups in the region.

The latest strikes followed a separate US operation on Sept. 5, when CENTCOM said it permanently disabled the Downy off Kharg Island and the Stark 1 near Jask and destroyed the Kylo in the Gulf of Oman after Iranian ballistic-missile launches toward two US Navy warships.

The confrontation also spilled into Jordan late Tuesday, where regional media reported missile interception activity over the northern city of Irbid and said Iranian missiles had entered the Kingdom’s airspace.

Videos circulating online appeared to show interceptors over northern Jordan. Jordanian authorities had not immediately confirmed the latest incident.

A source separately told Shafaq News that Iranian authorities suspended air traffic with Iraq as missile launches began, without specifying how long the measure would remain in place.

Jordan has faced similar attacks during the recent escalation. On Sept. 2, the Jordanian military said 13 ballistic missiles launched from Iranian territory entered its airspace. Jordanian air defenses destroyed 10, while three fell in remote areas without causing casualties.

The latest confrontation came hours after the IRGC claimed its naval forces had captured a US unmanned underwater vehicle near the Strait of Hormuz. A US official told Reuters that an American military underwater drone had malfunctioned more than a day earlier and described it as an older model carrying no classified sonar or radar equipment. The official did not confirm the IRGC’s claim that Iranian forces had seized it.

Iranian media identified the vehicle as a Dive-LD unmanned underwater platform, while the IRGC portrayed the alleged seizure as an intelligence success.

The IRGC Navy later warned crews aboard oil tankers near Kuwait and Bahrain to leave their vessels, threatening attacks in response to US strikes on Iranian shipping. Iranian officials also said Tehran planned to establish a new maritime exclusion zone around the Strait of Hormuz.

Shafaq News- Damascus

Around 700 displaced families left camps in northeastern Syria on Tuesday for their home villages around Ras al-Ain (Serekaniye), in the second organized return convoy after nearly seven years of displacement, a member of the presidential team overseeing implementation of Damascus’ agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) told Shafaq News.

Mustafa Abdi said further convoys would follow in the coming days as part of a voluntary return process, with families heading back to villages and rural areas where mine-clearance work has been carried out.

Dozens of buses departed the Al-Talaea camp east of Al-Hasakah for the Ras al-Ain area near the Turkish border, a Shafaq News correspondent reported.

Abdi said Tuesday’s operation was coordinated with the Internal Security Forces in Al-Hasakah and supported by UN organizations and the Barzani Charity Foundation*.

Around 10,000 people displaced from Ras al-Ain and its countryside remain in camps and collective shelters, according to Shafaq News’ correspondent.

The return process resumed after an earlier attempt in August was suspended following attacks and property disputes involving returning Kurdish families. On Aug. 10, six families who returned to Ras al-Ain found other families living in their homes, triggering clashes and damage to vehicles. Local security authorities subsequently halted returns while suspects were pursued.

The returns form part of the agreement between Damascus and the SDF, which includes provisions for the integration of military and administrative structures into Syrian state institutions and the return of displaced residents to their areas of origin.

Residents of Ras al-Ain and nearby areas were displaced after Turkiye launched Operation Peace Spring (Barış Pınarı) in October 2019 with allied Syrian armed factions, taking control of a stretch of territory between Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad.

UN figures at the time estimated that nearly 180,000 people had fled northeastern Syria within the first two weeks of the offensive, while subsequent UN reporting put the total displacement at more than 200,000 before many later returned to their areas of origin.

US forces targeted a second Iranian vessel near Kharg Island on Tuesday, Iranian media reported, after a small oil tanker was struck by a US missile while anchored about four miles (6 kilometers) from the island.

Tasnim said the first tanker was hit in the anchorage area, with no casualties reported and efforts underway to evacuate the crew. Iranian media later reported that a second Iranian vessel had also been targeted near Kharg, without immediately providing details on the vessel or possible damage.

Fox News, citing US officials, reported that the US military had targeted Iranian oil tankers near Kharg and Jask. Israeli media also cited a US source as saying American forces were carrying out attacks on Iranian tankers.

Mehr and Fars separately reported explosions around Kharg Island and near the southern port of Jask without providing details on their cause, possible targets or damage.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy later warned crews aboard oil tankers off Kuwait and Bahrain to “leave their ships immediately,” saying the vessels were vulnerable to attack in response to US strikes on Iranian tankers near Kharg and Jask.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Sept. 5 that its forces struck three Iranian oil tankers after the IRGC fired ballistic missiles toward two US Navy warships. CENTCOM said it disabled the M/T Downy off Kharg Island and the M/T Stark 1 near Jask and destroyed the unladen M/T Kylo in the Gulf of Oman.

Separately on Tuesday, Iran’s Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said the US military had threatened to target three Iranian oil tankers, warning that any attack on an Iranian vessel would prompt strikes on US bases and interests in the region.

Earlier today, the IRGC released footage of what it said was the US unmanned underwater vehicle it had captured near the Strait of Hormuz. A US official confirmed that an American underwater drone had malfunctioned more than a day earlier but did not confirm that Iranian forces had seized it.

Iran’s military also said its air defenses had shot down an American MQ-1 drone over Bandar Abbas.

Four Palestinians were killed andseveral others wounded in Israeli attacks and operations across Gaza and theoccupied West Bank, Palestinian media reported on Tuesday, as 12 Western states warned that Israeli actions were “undermining the possibility of a two-Statesolution” and moved toward restrictions on trade with settlements.

Gaza

Two Palestinians died in southernGaza, including an elderly man and a former prisoner who succumbed to woundssustained in a strike several days earlier in Khan Younis. Israeli gunfirecritically wounded a Palestinian in southern Khan Younis and injured another innorthern Gaza.

Israeli aircraft struck near thematernity department at Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City and targetedhomes in Al-Shati and Al-Bureij refugee camps, while a drone struck near aschool north of Al-Nuseirat refugee camp and Israeli forces carried out ademolition operation east of Deir Al-Balah.

Since the ceasefire took effect onOct. 11, 2025, the Gaza Health Ministry has recorded more than 1,320 deaths and4,385 injuries, along with 815 bodies recovered, bringing the cumulative tollsince Oct. 7, 2023, to more than 73,456 killed and 174,496 injured.

West Bank

In the occupied West Bank, a Gazaworker died after falling from a height while being pursued by Israeli forcesin Tulkarm, where residents later held his funeral.

In Aqraba, south of Nablus,Palestinian media identified the second Palestinian killed as Abdul KarimSuleiman, reporting that Israeli forces surrounded his home, fired Energaprojectiles at the building and partially demolished it.

The Israeli military describedSuleiman as a member of a “terrorist organization” who threw a Molotov cocktailand an improvised explosive device at troops without causing injuries. It saidforces surrounded and entered the building before soldiers killed him while hewas allegedly carrying a knife that he intended to use against them.

The military linked the raid to anovernight operation in Qabalan, Osarin, Aqraba and Yatma, where forces arrestedfour wanted Palestinians, including three accused of trafficking weapons andanother suspected of planning an imminent attack, questioned about 60 peopleduring searches at 70 locations, and seized ammunition, a launcher and othermilitary equipment.

A major operation also targetedAnata and Shuafat refugee camp northeast of Jerusalem, where the JerusalemGovernorate said Israeli forces imposed a tight cordon from early Tuesday,disrupting schools, closing businesses and severely restricting daily life foraround 80,000 residents. Anata's mayor announced the suspension of classes asforces closed the town, raided dozens of homes and made arrests, while thegovernorate put the number detained since the campaign began at around 100 andsaid raids and field interrogations were continuing.

Further raids and arrests werereported by Palestinian media across the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem.In Tubas, forces damaged a home and detained a young man, while a formerprisoner was arrested after a raid on his home in Jerusalem's Old City. APalestinian police sergeant and a 61-year-old man were also detained, whileforces closed the headquarters of the Central Zakat Committee, a localcharitable body, in Tulkarm.

Israeli forces also fired tear gasat the entrance to Al-Fawwar refugee camp south of Al-Khalil (Hebron) andcarried out demolitions in Masafer Yatta, where an infant and his family weredisplaced after their home was demolished, with footage showing the child'smother sitting on the ground and rocking his cradle.

Israeli authorities, meanwhile,released 71-year-old Sheikh Abdul Khaliq Al-Natsheh from Al-Khalil after 24months in detention, ending his latest period in Israeli custody after spendingmore than 26 years in prisons over multiple periods.

The International Committee of theRed Cross told Quds News Network that visits to Palestinians held in Israeliprisons had not resumed and none were currently planned, adding that it hadfacilitated the transfer of 3,472 Palestinian detainees to their families sinceOctober 2023 and more than 2,200 people released inside Gaza during unilateralrelease operations.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Societyestimates that more than 21,000 Palestinians have been detained, many withoutformal charges, while the International Foundation for Solidarity withPrisonersregistered466 arrests and re-arrests in June 2026alone, including 13 children, 10 women, 25 previously released prisoners, andmembers of various professional and social groups, in addition to recording 554administrative detention orders and renewals during the month.

International Pressure OverSettlements

UK Foreign Secretary Ed Milibandaccused Israeli “terrorists” of carrying out ethnic cleansing in the West Bankwith tacit government backing and announced sweeping restrictions targetingsettlements, as Britain adopted the position that Israel's occupation of theWest Bank is unlawful in its entirety.

Addressing the House of Commons,Miliband accused the Israeli government of having “turned a blind eye” tosettler actions and said some of its members had made statements or taken stepssupporting the forced displacement of Palestinians. Acknowledging what hedescribed as the reality facing Palestinians was “the least the people who facesuch suffering deserve,” he said, adding that it “should be the prelude tojustice.”

The measures include a ban onimports from Israeli settlements in the occupied territories, sanctions onconstruction, financing and other services supporting settlements, aprohibition on advertising settlement properties in the UK, and personalsanctions against individuals accused of promoting settler violence, alongsiderestrictions on arms licenses and other exports that “materially contribute tothe occupation.” Miliband said those financing or facilitating settlementswould “face the full force of UK sanctions,” with legislation implementing themeasures expected within nine months.

The UK move was followed by abroader joint statement from the foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland,France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and theUnited Kingdom, confirming their intention to introduce national restrictions,support European restrictions on trade in settlement goods or actively considersuch measures in accordance with their domestic procedures.

The 12 countries cited“unprecedented levels of settler violence and settlement expansion,” includingIsrael's decision to publish tenders for the E1 settlement project. A Basij commander was killed in an attack in Rask County, insoutheastern Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iranian media reported.

Tasnim news agency identified the victim as Abdul-RaufEshaqi, commander of an IRGC Basij district in Parud, Rask County, and reportedthat he was killed in what it described as a “terrorist attack.”

Security forces are pursuing those responsible andmonitoring their movements, Tasnim reported, adding that further details wouldbe released.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Sistan and Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan andAfghanistan, has experienced recurring unrest and attacks targeting Iraniansecurity forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Armedopposition groups, including Jaish al-Adl, have claimed responsibility forprevious attacks in the province.

The incident comes days after reports that two IRGC memberswere killed in an armed attack near Zahedan, the provincial capital.

Yemen’s Houthis (Ansarallah) said on Tuesday that theycarried out a “qualitative and extensive military operation” targeting SaudiAramco facilities and a military airbase in southern Saudi Arabia, “in response”to Saudi airstrikes on Yemen over the past three days.

Military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the grouplaunched dozens of ballistic missiles and drones at Aramco sites in Abha,Najran, Jizan, and the Economic City, as well as King Khalid Air Base in KhamisMushait, citing “precise and direct” hits that caused “significant damage.”

Saudi forces, according to Saree, carried out 121airstrikes from King Khalid Air Base and King Fahd Air Base in Taif, targetingMarib, Al-Bayda, Al-Hudaydah, Taiz, and Al-Jawf. He also blamed Riyadh for the“Al-Jawf massacre,” which he said “claimed the lives of a large number ofinmates at the central prison in Al-Hazm, including women and children.”

Earlier Tuesday, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry accusedthe Houthis of attacks on civilian and economic sites across four southerncities, saying 73 people, among them women and children, were wounded.

Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry on Tuesday blamed Yemen's Houthimovement for attacks on civilian and economic sites in four cities in thekingdom's south, saying 73 people, among them women and children, were wounded.

The ministry named the targeted cities as Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazanand Najran, all near the border with Yemen. The Saudi energy ministry saidfires broke out at several sites, and that emergency teams were working to putthem out and assess the damage.

The Houthis, an armed movement that controls much of northern Yemen,have fought a Saudi-led military coalition since 2015 and have periodicallyfired missiles and drones across the border into Saudi territory. Cross-borderattacks fell sharply after a 2022 truce.

Saudi Arabia said it reserved the right to take any measures necessaryto defend its territory, citizens and residents. It repeated its rejection ofwhat it called the group's hostile and criminal conduct and of its refusal toengage in peace efforts.

Israelkilled two Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad members in separate attacks inthe Gaza Strip, the Israeli military said on Monday.

One ofthe strikes killed Sobhi Khader Al-Tabarikhi, a member of Islamic Jihad, in Al-Shatt area of Gaza. The military claimed he had helped plant explosivedevices targeting Israeli forces in the enclave. Another strike several days earlier killed Ahmed Fouad Helles, a member of theelite unit of Hamas' military wing, the military confirmed, linking him to similar activities.

A series of Israeli airstrikes targeted Kfar Tibnit andNabatieh al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon, while a large explosion was reported inBani Hayyan, with no casualties reported, Lebanese media outlets said on Monday.

Another airstrike hit the al-Reyhan area along the Sajdroad, killing one person, according to local reports.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun described the ongoing Israeliattacks on Lebanon, including the killing of civilians, the destruction andburning of homes, and property damage, as condemned, unacceptable, andunjustified crimes.

Following a meeting with French Justice Minister GéraldDarmanin, Aoun added that the attacks target the framework agreement andundermine efforts to halt the escalation in southern Lebanon and the widerregion.

The Lebanese president reaffirmed his country’s commitmentto the international peacekeeping mission, noting that Lebanon is coordinating withFrench President Emmanuel Macron to facilitate the renewal of the UnitedNations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mandate.

Earlier, Lebanon’s Health Ministry stated that nine peoplewere killed and 13 others wounded in Israeli strikes across the Nabatiehdistrict.

The Ministry put the cumulative toll from Israeli attacksbetween March 2 and Sept. 6 at 4,362 killed and 12,378 wounded.

The Lebanese Armed Forces have documented more than 5,000Israeli attacks on the country since the framework agreement was signed inJune, a Lebanese military official told CNN.

Yemeni government forces said on Monday they had takencontrol of the Hayd al-Khazzan, al-Fulaihan and al-Nasifah positions inal-Bayda Governorate following heavy clashes with Houthi forces.

The forces said that their warplanes struck Houthi positionsin al-Sawadiyah, while Houthi reinforcements heading to the Labanat militarycamp in al-Jawf came under attack.

Arab media outlets reported that tribes in al-Jawf had begunmobilizing to support the Yemeni armed forces against the Houthis.

The Yemeni troops also said that they had taken control ofthe Naqil and Jabal al-Koura areas on the al-Kadaha front in Taiz Governorate.

Meanwhile, the International Organization for Migration hasreported mounting displacement from the fighting, recording 274 displaced householdsnationwide between Aug. 23 and 29, most of them in Taiz.

Houthi-affiliated media outlets released footage showingwhat they described as ballistic missile strikes on trucks carrying militaryequipment from Saudi Arabia at the al-Wadiah military camp.

Houthi media also reported that Saudi artillery firetargeted the Al al-Sheikh area in the border district of Munabbih.

They further reported that Saudi aircraft struck the centralprison in al-Hazm district, al-Jawf Governorate, claiming that 35 inmates and awoman visiting her husband remained trapped under the rubble. The reports alsosaid the body of a child had been recovered and two people were injured.

The Houthi spokesperson accused Saudi Arabia of escalatingits campaign against Yemen, alleging that Riyadh had carried out airstrikes andother attacks as part of what he described as an ongoing blockade of thecountry.

He cited the “al-Jawf massacre,” surveillance aircraft, andthe supply of various types of weapons to Saudi-aligned forces as the latestsigns of escalation. The spokesperson warned that “Saudi Arabia’s continuedaggression against Yemen would not go unanswered,” saying Riyadh would have tobear the consequences of its actions against the Yemeni people.

The latest developments follow an escalation in fightingsince last Thursday, when Houthi fighters launched a ground assault alongsidemissile and drone strikes targeting coastal areas along the Red Sea andpositions around Taiz.

Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours have killed sevenPalestinians and injured 30, the Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip statedon Monday.

In its daily report, the ministry noted that five of thosekilled were newly reported deaths, while two others died from injuriessustained earlier, adding, “several victims remain under the rubble or in thestreets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them.”

The ministry said the death toll since the October 11ceasefire has reached 1,352, while 4,511 people have been injured, and thebodies of 826 people killed during the conflict have been recovered. Theoverall death toll since October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,658, with 174,622people injured.

In the West Bank, an Israeli settler was seriously woundedin a stabbing attack near the village of Osrein, southeast of Nablus in thenorthern West Bank. The Israeli military said it killed the suspected attacker.

Israeli Army Radio reported that a Palestinian drove to afarm in an Israeli settlement near Osrein, got out of his vehicle and stabbed asettler before fleeing the area by car.

Local sources said the attack took place in the Jabal Qamasarea between Osrein and Beita, where settlers have recently carried outrepeated attacks, including taking control of land and establishing new Israelisettlement outposts.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he had instructedthe military to prepare for an “all-out war” against the PalestinianAuthority's leadership, its security forces and affiliated groups, as well aswhat he described as “offensive infrastructure” in the occupied West Bank.

Katz added that the instructions were intended to bring anyconfrontation to a complete and rapid resolution if Israel confirmspreparations for an attack similar to the October 7 operation targeting Israelitroops and settlements.

Saudi Aramco’s oil facilities in Jazan were struck onMonday, a month after an attack temporarily disrupted production at thecompany’s refinery in the southwestern Saudi city, the Financial Times (FT)reported.

Two people familiar with the matter told the newspaperthat the extent of the damage was still being assessed, with one saying thatthe latest attack was similar in scale to the previous strike.

Jazan, near the Yemeni border, hosts a400,000-barrel-per-day refinery and associated energy infrastructure.

Saudi Aramco has not commented on the incident, and nogroup has claimed responsibility.

Nine people were killed and 13others wounded in Israeli strikes across the Nabatieh district in southernLebanon early Monday, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported.

In Kfar Remman, an Israeli strike ona house killed eight people, including a child and two women, and wounded 11others, including four children, two women and a paramedic.

An Israeli strike on a vehicle inthe same town also killed a paramedic from the Islamic Risala ScoutAssociation, a Lebanese scouting and emergency-response organization, andinjured two other members of the association.

Israeli aircraft simultaneouslycarried out a series of raids on Nabatieh Al-Fawqa and Arabsalim, also in theNabatieh district, according to Lebanese media.

In DeirAl-Zahrani, the Israeli military issued an evacuation warning overnight for abuilding and neighboring structures, instructing residents to move at least 300meters away. Israeli warplanes destroyed the building about 22 minutes later.

The Israeli armydescribed the site as a Hezbollah facility and linked the attack to a “blatantviolation” of the ceasefire agreement, accusing the group of launching anexplosive-laden drone toward Israeli forces. Hezbollah has yet to comment onthe accusation.

Fighting between Yemen's internationally recognizedgovernment forces and Houthis (Ansarallah) fighters left more than 140combatants dead in the southwest of the country between Saturday afternoon andearly Sunday, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported.

Citing two military officials from the Saudi-backedgovernment forces, the outlet recorded 84 deaths among their ranks, most inmissile strikes. Four Houthis military sources placed their casualties at 57over the same period.

The clashes rank among the heaviest Yemen has seen since a2022 UN-brokered truce between the warring sides broke down in July, with thetwo forces battling for territory along routes leading to the Red Sea.

The Houthis launched their latest offensive on Thursday,seeking to isolate the government-held port city of Mocha and advance towardterritory near Bab al-Mandab, the narrow passage linking the Red Sea with theGulf of Aden.

The death toll has surpassed 300 combatants and civilianssince the offensive began, according to an AFP tally.

A military official from Yemen's internationally recognizedgovernment, headquartered in Aden, indicated that fighting had eased in theearly hours of Sunday.

An Israeli airstrike on a civilian vehicle in westernGaza City killed two Palestinians, including a girl, and wounded six others onSunday, Palestinian media reported.

The attack targeted the vehicle near Hamid Junction,with most of the wounded reportedly children. A second vehicle came under firenear the Telecommunications Junction in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, killing oneperson and injuring several others.

Elsewhere in the enclave, Israeli gunfire injured asix-year-old girl east of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza and twoPalestinians at Qatar Camp, east of Hamad City in northern Khan Younis,according to Palestinian media. Military vehicles and quadcopter drones alsoopened fire toward homes and tents in Gaza City’s Al-Tuffah and Al-Darajneighborhoods and west of Bir Al-Naja in northern Gaza. Artillery shelling wasreported in eastern Al-Tuffah.

Palestinian outlets reported Israeli raids across theWest Bank, with troops using tear gas in Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah,and entering Kobar, Al-Zababdeh south of Jenin, Rujeib east of Nablus, and BeitFajjar south of Bethlehem.

Troops fired a stun grenade toward worshippers insideBeit Fajjar’s Grand Mosque, setting part of the carpet ablaze. A search wasalso carried out near Beita, south of Nablus, after a vehicle reportedly fled acheckpoint, before soldiers later entered a house in Ein Rujan.

In Hajja, east of Qalqilya, an attack by settlersaccompanied by Israeli troops killed one Palestinian and injured severalothers, Palestinian media said.

Three people were killed on Sunday when Israel strucka parking area in Nabatieh Al-Tahta, southern Lebanon, the Lebanese HealthMinistry said, amid a series of attacks across the south.

Warplanes targeted the Fakhr Al-Din parking area,setting vehicles ablaze and damaging nearby buildings, according to Lebanese media.Al-Manar correspondent Ali Shabib and an accompanying cameraman were woundedand hospitalized in stable condition.

Israeli forces carried out demolitions in Kfar Tibnit,Nabatieh district, and Wadi Al-Salouqi in Bint Jbeil district.

The Health Ministry has recorded 4,362 people killed and12,378 injured since March 2, raising the toll from Israeli attacks since Oct.8, 2023, to 8,929 killed and 30,614 wounded.
