Shafaq News – Nineveh

On Tuesday, snow fell on Mount Sinjar in Nineveh Province, northern Iran, covering the mountain’s slopes as temperatures dropped sharply.

Tapes circulating on social media revealed roads winding up the mountain covered in fresh snow. The mountain appeared fully blanketed, while fog hovered over the area, partially obscuring the slopes and surrounding terrain.

Mount Sinjar lies in a border area west of Nineveh, near the Iraqi–Syrian–Turkish border triangle, and is among the region’s highest elevations, making it more prone to snowfall during temperature drops.
