Iraqi border forces seized 154 kg of narcotics, including 893,000 pills, after intercepting airborne smuggling attempts along the western border in Al-Anbar, authorities said in a statement on Wednesday.

Border units detected five balloons carrying drugs using surveillance systems and thermal cameras, tracking and bringing them down in separate operations.

In a parallel operation, intelligence forces arrested two suspects at a provincial entry point and seized more than 150 Lyrica pills in their possession.
