Saudi airstrikes on homes in Al-Shariyah village in Yemen’s Sanaa province killed 27 people, mostly women and children, and wounded dozens, Sanaa’s Health Ministry said on Saturday.

The ministry also accused Saudi aircraft of striking rescuers and roads leading to the village, which is located in Bani Hashish district.

Separately, forces loyal to Yemen’s internationally recognized government carried out 875 targeting operations over the preceding hours, military spokesperson Majed Abdullah Al-Nuzaili said. Preliminary field estimates indicated that the operations “neutralized” about 130 Houthi commanders and fighters and destroyed or damaged 50 military vehicles, other equipment, and missile launchers.

Supported by warplanes, drones and artillery, government forces continued operations across Taiz, Marib and Al-Jawf, as well as southern and western fronts, Al-Nuzaili added.

The Houthis announced six operations using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. The group’s military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the first targeted King Khalid International Airport and Aramco oil tanks and a distillation tower in Riyadh. Two others targeted Aramco facilities in Khurais and pumping station No. 8 in Al-Dawadmi, with all three operations achieving their objectives.

A fourth operation targeted Saudi troop concentrations at a National Guard camp in Najran, Saree said, while two others targeted troop concentrations in eastern Al-Jawf, in three stages, and east of Raghwan and Madghal districts in Marib.

According to Saree, the operations came as retaliation for Saturday’s Bani Hashish strikes and a November 6 attack on Al-Hadara market in Taiz’s Al-Wazi’iyah district, pledging further attacks inside Saudi Arabia. For the market attack, the Houthis blamed Saudi airstrikes, while Al-Nuzaili accused the group of hitting it with a ballistic missile.

Earlier today, Saudi-led coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki claimed that air defenses intercepted and destroyed a Houthi cruise missile headed toward the Riyadh region.
