Shafaq News / The Directorate of Weather Forecast and Seismic Monitoring in Kurdistan Region expected on Wednesday that a new wave of snow will sweep the region and this time it falls in the four provincial centers.
The directorate said in a statement that at the beginning, snow will fall in the border mountainous areas north and west of the region, and by dawn tomorrow, Thursday, the entire region will be affected by the wave, and it is expected that snow will fall in varying proportions in the governorates' centers (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dohuk, Kirkuk, Halabja.)
The statement added that some regions will witness a few rains with snow, noting that the effect of this wave will continue on the high mountainous areas until Thursday afternoon.
The Directorate expected that the full wave effect would weaken on Thursday evening and with snowfall, the visibility would decrease.
The Directorate also expected the thickness of the snow that will fall as follows: Erbil from 5-10 cm, Sulaimaniyah from 6-12 cm, and Dahuk from 20-30 cm, Halabja from 7-15, Kirkuk 2-5.
