Shafaq News / The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, thanked on Tuesday the US military aid, indicating that part of it had been handed over to the Peshmerga.
The region’s presidency said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, received this evening, Matthew Tueller, the US ambassador to Iraq and an accompanying delegation", indicating that, "the political and security situation in Iraq was discussed at the meeting".
The statement added that they discussed "the relations of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with America, enhancing them, the strategic dialogue between Iraq and America, the dangers of terrorism, the importance of continuing international support for Iraq in the war against terrorism, the efforts to solve the Erbil – Baghdad conflicts and the issue of the upcoming Iraqi elections, were discussed in the meeting".
Tueller expressed his country's appreciation for the state of coexistence and harmony between the components of Kurdistan, stressing that Kurdistan plays an important role in stabilizing the whole region's situation its importance for the whole region’s stability.
Furthermore, Tueller affirmed his country's support for the Kurdistan region.
Both parties also discussed, according to the statement, the latest developments of COVID-19, as well as Iraq and the Kurdistan Region's relations with the neighboring countries.
