Kurdistan Region’s President Nechirvan Barzani on Wednesday mourned Kurdish politician Salih Muslim, describing him as a leading political figure.

In a statement from the Kurdish Presidency, Barzani underlined Muslim’s decades-long dedication to political activism and the defense of Kurdish rights. "The late Salih Muslim devoted many years of his life to political struggle and was among the prominent Kurdish leaders in Syria, playing significant roles across various stages of the political movement," he added, expressing his sympathy to Muslim’s family, relatives, and colleagues.

Salih Muslim was a veteran Syrian Kurdish politician and co-leader of the Democratic Union Party (PYD).
