Shafaq News / The new commander of the German forces in Kurdistan Region affirmed today, Sunday, the continued support, coordination and assistance of his country to the Peshmerga forces.
The Peshmerga Ministry said in a statement, "the Minister of Peshmerga, Shoresh Ismail, received today, the commander of the German forces in Erbil, and a high-level team of German military advisors", pointing out that Nogardi told Ismail that, "by a decision from the Ministry of Defense His mission will be commander of German forces and advisors in Erbil".
The statement indicated, "Nogardi affirmed the continued support, coordination and assistance of the German Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Peshmerga and the Peshmerga forces in terms of logistical, training and rehabilitation in order to confront terrorism and ISIS terrorists in the region whose dangers still threaten the region".
The statement added, "the Minister of Peshmerga expressed his appreciation for the position of the nation and government of Germany in cooperation and coordination with the Peshmerga and Kurdistan Regional Government", stressing that, "this assistance, as well as the German military coordination in the war against terrorism, sends the interest of the ministry and had a great impact in developing and raising the capabilities of the Peshmerga forces."
"The ministry, in addition to military cooperation, appreciates diplomatic and political support and international action towards the Ministry of Peshmerga and the people of Kurdistan, and is proud of friendship and joint work with the German side", the statement indicated.
The statement added, "in the first meeting between the Minister of Peshmerga in Kurdistan Regional Government and the new commander of the German forces in the region, they discussed the recent events in the region and Iraq, and emphasized the rapprochement between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army", stressing that, "its results will lead to consolidating security and stability in the region".
