Shafaq News / A leader of Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi (PMF) revealed on Friday that ISIS activity has increased in the Makhmour Mountains in Saladin.
The leader of the 51st Brigade of Al-Hashd, Abed Al-Rahman Al-Jubouri, told Shafaq News agency, "ISIS terrorists began to appear in border villages north of Al-Sharqat near Makhmour mountains, which separate between Saladin and Erbil".
Al-Jubouri added, " the counterterrorism forces raided several times the areas of Al-Khanouka and northern Al-Sharqat, after information indicating that some ISIS leaders have returned, were received", noting that, "the areas of the left coast of Al-Sharqat are safe, except for the villages bordering the Kurdistan Region, where there is no security presence".
