Shafaq News – Baghdad

Falih al-Fayyadh, head of the Ata’a Movement and chairman of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), cast his ballot on Tuesday in Iraq’s parliamentary elections.

After voting, al-Fayyadh said he was confident in the integrity of the process and called on citizens to participate widely, describing the elections as “an essential step toward reinforcing stability and strengthening governance in Iraq.”

Al-Fayyadh is competing within the Reconstruction and Development Alliance (Al-Ima’ar wal Tanmiya), led by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. The coalition brings together a mix of political forces, including the Euphrates Movement (al-Furatain) led by al-Sudani himself; the Iraqi National Accord (Wifaq) of former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi; the Ata’a Movement headed by al-Fayyadh; the Irada Movement of Hanan al-Fatlawi; the Bilad Sumer Gathering led by Labor Minister Ahmed al-Asadi; and the Karbala Innovation Alliance under Governor Nassif al-Khattabi.
