Barzani said, "I was saddened by the passing of Mr. Ali, the son of the Kurdish leader Qazi Muhammad."

Nechirvan Barzani extends condolences on the death of a Kurdish leader's son
Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan region, Nechirvan Barzani, on Sunday extended condolences to the family of the Kurdish leader, Qazi Muhammad, on the death of his son, Ali.
In a condolence cable he sent earlier today, the president said, "I was saddened by the passing of Mr. Ali Qazi Muhammad, the son of the leader, Qazi Muhammad."
Earlier today, Ali Qazi passed away at 89 in Germany.
Ali was the only son of Qazi, a Kurdish leader who declared autonomy for the short-lived Kurdish state of the Republic of Mahabad in present-day Iran on January 22, 1946.
