Shafaq News / During his visit to Basra today, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi laid the foundation stone for the Basra water pipeline project.

According to a statement by the PM's media office, Al-Kadhimi said that "serious work" is ongoing despite all economic challenges.

According to the statement, the Iraqi Prime Minister added, "the Iraqi people is expecting much from the government to offer and compensate for years of chaos, deprivation and mismanagement."

Al-Kadhimi, arrived earlier today in Basra in the far south of Iraq, according to a brief government press release, where he announced beginning the construction work in Grand al-Faw Port.
