Shafaq News / A security source revealed that on Thursday, a new attack was launched by unknown persons on a convoy of trucks contracting with the US-Coalition in Babel governorate. 

The source told Shafaq News agency, that "an explosive device exploded on a convoy belonging to one of the companies contracting with the International Coalition on the highway in Al-Musayyib area in Babel governorate."

He added that the attack did not cause any casualties or material losses.

The frequency of attacks targeting columns of trucks transporting international coalition supplies has escalated over the past few weeks, to almost daily.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Pro-Iranian armed factions including the Iraqi Kata’ib Hezbollah have threatened to target US forces and interests if they do not withdraw from the country.
