UN "concerned" about the events in Iraq

Shafaq News/ The United Nations Secretary General expressed his deep concern over the high number of deaths and injuries during the ongoing demonstrations in Iraq.

According to a UN statement, "disturbing reports have been received of the continued use of live ammunition against demonstrators in Iraq.”

The Secretary-General urged all parties to refrain from using violence and seriously investigate all acts of violence. The Secretary-General renewed his call for a meaningful dialogue between the government and the demonstrators.
