Shafaq News / The Parliamentary Crisis Cell considered on Wednesday that Iraq has begun returning to normal life, canceling the imposed health restrictions and "coexisting" with COVID-19.
Member of the committee, Abbas Aliwi, told Shafaq News agency, "Iraq has begun to coexist with the pandemic", stressing the need to, "adhere to the instructions issued by the Supreme Committee and the Ministry of Health, in order to restore life to normal".
He added, "work at government departments and institutions will be resumed by 50%, and will reach 100% in the future".
Aliwi pointed that, "COVID-19 is an advanced flu and it is necessary to live with such viruses to restore life to normal, while adhering to health instructions".
Earlier today, member of the Security and Defense Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, Mahdi Taqi, revealed that the Iraqi government is currently studying reopening outlets for religious tourism, especially for Imam Hussein's shrine visitors.
The total number of COVID-19 in Iraq reached 273,816, including 7,732 fatalities and 209,993 recoveries.
It is noteworthy that there are fears of a healthcare system collapse due to COVID-19, as well as the wars, corruption and instability the country has witnessed in the past decades.
