COVID-19 severity has decreased in Iraq, official says

Shafaq News / Member of the Parliamentary Crisis Cell, Hassan Khalatti, announced on Monday that the severity of COVID-19 has decreased in Iraq.

Khalatti said in an interview received by Shafaq News, "Through our field visit to Basra governorate hospitals, we noticed a clear decrease in the number of inpatients to about 60% comparing to the past weeks".

Al-Khatti pointed out that, "the hospitals may return to provide citizens with their regular services, while maintaining one epidemiological unit in each hospital".

Yesterday, Sunday, the Iraqi Ministry of Health and Environment registered 3422 recoveries, 3531 new cases, and 73 fatalities of COVID-19.

The total number of COVID-19 fatalities in Iraq has exceeded 8000, while cases have reached 300000, since the outbreak in the country.
