Angry demonstrators block a highway in Dhi Qar

Shafaq News/ Demonstrators in the north of Dhi Qar governorate blocked today, Friday, the main road linking Nasiriya and Shatra.

Shafaq News Agency's correspondent reported that dozens of angry demonstrators in Al-Gharraf district blocked the highway linking Shatra and Nasiriya with burning tires.

The demonstrators demanded improving public services, especially electric power, according to our correspondent.

Iraqis have been protesting for many years against frequent power outages, especially in summer, when temperatures sometimes reach 50 degrees Celsius.
