A Rocket fell inside the Green Zone in Baghdad

Shafaq News / A rocket landed on Tuesday inside the fortified Green Zone.

A security source told Shafaq News Agency, that a Katyusha rocket was fired by unknown persons and fell near the 14th of July Bridge inside the Green Zone.

He added that the explosives expert went to the accident scene, without immediately clearing the size of the losses. It is likely that the US embassy is the target.

Diplomats and American soldiers have been subjected to attacks for months.

The frequency of these attacks has increased since the assassination of the Iranian commander, Qassem Soleimani, and the deputy head of Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, in an American air strike in Baghdad on January 3.

Washington accuses the Iraqi "Hezbollah" Brigades and other pro-Iranian factions of being behind the attacks.
