Health authorities in Iraq’s Nineveh province confirmed a new case of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) in a 19-year-old man from Al-Qayyarah, south of Mosul, a source at the provincial Health Directorate told Shafaq News on Monday.
Nineveh has recorded 20 CCHF infections and one death so far in 2026, according to a Shafaq News tracker, bringing Iraq’s nationwide toll to 167 cases and 11 deaths.
