Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority extended on Wednesday the closure of the country’s airspace for an additional 72 hours, citing ongoing regional security tensions.

The decision applies to all flights —arrivals, departures, and overflights— starting at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, and lasting until midday on Saturday, March 28, 2026, as a “temporary precautionary measure.”
