Shafaq News / Turkish Minister of Interior Suleiman Soilo announced that the number of irregular migrants who left from the northwestern city of Edirne towards Europe reached more than 76,000 as of Sunday morning.
Soilo tweeted that "76,358 irregular migrants left from Edirne towards European countries until 09:55 local time from Sunday morning (06:50 GMT)”.
The flow of migrants began to the western borders of Turkey, after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country would keep its doors open to refugees wishing to go to Europe, stressing that Turkey has no capacity to absorb a new wave of immigration.
