Shafaq News/ On Thursday night, Israeli airstrikes targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut, causing a large fire in the targeted buildings, according to Lebanese media outlets.
“Israeli airstrikes struck several Beirut suburbs, including Aamroussiyeh, Haret Hreik, Burj Al-Barajneh, and Hadath, following last-minute warnings to civilians,” the Lebanese Civil Defense reported on Friday.
Warnings reportedly arrived just minutes before the strikes, leaving residents with little time to evacuate.
In turn, Hezbollah targeted Israeli military gatherings with a barrage of rockets, hitting Safed, the Zvulun military industrial base north of Haifa, Nahariya, Kiryat Shmona, Menara, Misgav Am, the Sanat Chin military base, and Malikiyah.
The Lebanese party also destroyed two Merkava tanks in Ayta Al-Shaab and Odaisseh in southern Lebanon.
Israel has intensified its airstrikes on Lebanon since September 23, targeting what it claims are infrastructure and facilities belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, eastern Lebanon, and the southern suburbs of Beirut. Since October 7, when the Lebanese party opened a “support front” for the Gaza Strip, more than 2,550 persons have been killed, and over 12,000 injured, including women and children, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
On the other side, Hezbollah responds to Israeli attacks with rockets and drones, inflicting material and human losses, as it announced killing over 70 Israeli soldiers and destroying dozens of tanks.
