Shafaq News- Baghdad
Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah on Saturday announced plans to attack US military bases in response to what it described as “American aggression,” as hostilities continue between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
Earlier, Iraq’s Joint Operations Command said airstrikes hit Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) headquarters in Jurf Al-Sakhr, north of Babil, killing two members and wounding three others, without identifying the source. Sources told Shafaq News the strike reportedly targeted sites linked to the Iran-aligned Kataib Hezbollah.
Columns of smoke were also seen rising near Erbil International Airport, which includes a military section used by US-led Coalition forces.
Sources further told our agency that four powerful explosions were heard around Harir Air Base in Erbil Province, which also hosts US forces. No immediate details on damage or casualties were available.
US-Israeli strikes on Iran earlier in the day triggered retaliatory missile and drone fire across the Middle East, with reported attacks on US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
