A teenager was injured on Tuesday when an explosive device left behind by ISIS detonated in Al-Qaim district, western Al-Anbar province, a security source told Shafaq News.

The blast occurred in Al-Wahat area, behind Dour Al-Aramel Street in Al-Obaidi subdistrict, injuring Suleiman Abd Dahham Al-Jashaami, born in 2010.

Civil Defense teams removed 1,593 unexploded munitions in Al-Anbar between Jan. 1 and June 26, 2026, while the Iraqi Army’s Field Engineering Battalion destroyed 897 explosive remnants, according to provincial Civil Defense figures.
