An airstrike hit a Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) headquarters of the Al-Hussein Brigade (53rd Brigade) in Tal Afar, Nineveh province in northern Iraq, killing the commando regiment commander along with three members, a security source told Shafaq News on Wednesday.

In a statement, the PMF confirmed the killing of commando regiment commander Yassin Mohammed Sadiq, adding that the two strikes also killed another fighter and injured four others in a preliminary toll. Separately, the Badr Organization mourned the commander, known as Abu Taha Al-Turkmani, from Tal Afar.

Civil defense teams, forensic units, and explosives experts have begun work at the site, while investigations are ongoing to determine the details of the attack and those responsible.

Earlier today, an airstrike targeted a PMF site in the same area without causing casualties.
