An airstrike targeted a tribal Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) site in Qayyarah, south of Mosul, for the first time, a security source told Shafaq News on Thursday.
The strike hit the main headquarters of Brigade 58 within the Sabaaween sector in the village of Sultan Abdullah, and the aircraft continued flying over the area.
The PMF accused the United States and Israel of attacking the headquarters, which caused no casualties.
The tribal PMF operates as part of Iraq’s state-recognized Popular Mobilization Forces, which includes local tribal fighters deployed in areas previously held by ISIS.
On Wednesday evening, another strike targeted a PMF position in the Tal Afar district, west of Mosul, killing the commander of the commando regiment and three fighters.
