Shafaq News / For the past two decades, Iraqis have been preoccupied with explosions, violence, and the formation of armed factions or political parties to run in the elections; unless, this reality has not stood in the way of others who loved life through their hobbies.
Young Iraqis -with their vitality, boldness, and constant perseverance- have worked to align themselves with their peers in other countries that have preceded Iraq in collective youth activities, including the sport of motorcycles and their use to interact with community activities and different population factions.. These young people -despite crises and problems- give another face to Baghdad and Iraq; an optimistic and life-loving face.
A group of Young Iraqis formed a club that limits its activity to the classic motorcycles, calling it "The Bond Brothers" club and established an internal system that includes the terms of membership and the requirements related to its members, as well as their duties and rights.
"The Bond brothers" defines itself as a classic motorcycle club; a group of members who have a fraternal relationship and are interested in motorcycle sports, they are governed by a set of laws that regulate the work of the club and set the administrative and technical joints.. the club has a president as well as a vice president.
The club's regulations also contain a financial system and another for protection and public relations management. The club set rules, duties, and rights for its badge carrying members, including respecting the club’s inner procedures and formation, prioritizing the club’s interest, preserving the club’s secrets and property; and for those who violate any of the rules, a penalty was set by withdrawing confidence and the badge, as well as expulsion. The punishment of the black mark is one of the toughest ones; it includes cutting off the badge carrier and severing any kind of relationship with him.
It also set conditions for membership in the club, including to be 20 years of age and above, to be able to drive Harleys (Harley-Davidson, an American motorcycle) professionally, to be familiar with traffic laws and rules, to be reputable, and to have a decent appearance -because the member's reputation is the reputation of the team, according to the club's inner rules.
Prior to being accepted as a member, the candidate is subject to an interview and test by the team captains.
Yunus Emad, president of The Bond Brothers, told Shafaq News agency, “The club, which specializes in classic motorcycles, was established in 2019 and we were able to spread the club around the world in a relatively short time. We have activities and branches in the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Spain, as well as Kirkuk, Najaf, and Al-Sulaymaniyah, and soon we will announce our branch in Erbil".
He added, “The club was officially registered with the Black and White Foundation with other clubs in America, Europe, and around the world”.
"In a short time, we were able to form a global club, open up more than one activity, and change the reality of the cyclist in Iraq. We work as young people with humanitarian objectives to change the perception of the cyclist whose name has been associated with gangs", he said.
Emad concluded, "We are peace doves, not war crows; our actions are focused on visiting orphanages and the elderly and are limited to purely humanitarian actions”.
