Yemen’s Southern Giants Brigades* repelled a Houthi attack on their positions north of Dhubab airport, the group said on Saturday.

The force said the clashes caused heavy personnel and equipment losses among Houthi forces, without providing casualty figures or further details on the fighting.

According to Yemen TV, affiliated with the internationally recognized government, the Foreign Ministry submitted a letter to the United Nations and the UN Security Council over what it described as an Iran-backed Houthi attack on Aden International Airport. It called for condemnation of the attack, accountability for those responsible, and stronger enforcement of measures aimed at restricting Houthi access to weapons.

Houthi-run Al-Masirah television said Saudi missile fire hit populated villages in the border district of Razih. The channel also reported four Saudi airstrikes on Bab al-Mandeb and additional strikes targeting villages in Bani Hatab in Abs district.

* The Southern Giants Brigades are a Yemeni government-aligned force made up largely of southern Salafi fighters, with tribal elements, and historically backed by both Saudi Arabia and the UAE in their fight against the Iran-backed Houthis.
