A powerful explosion on Wednesday struck the town of Kafr Takharim in Idlib’s countryside, northern Syria.

Five workers were killed and nine others injured in the explosion, according to SANA official news agency citing the Idlib Internal Security Directorate. The incident reportedly occurred at a nearby workshop.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the explosion occured at an ammunition depot.

Similar explosions have occurred previously in Idlib countryside, most of which took place in weapons depots belonging to armed factions in the area.
