The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces have begun carrying out additional "defensive strikes" against multiple targets inside Iran, describing the operations as a response to “unwarranted and continued aggression.”

Iranian state and semi-official media reported explosions across several locations in Hormozgan province. Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said strikes targeted Sirik, Qeshm, and Minab. State television reported that a projectile hit Sirik, while the Kargan area of Minab came under attack five times. It also said air defense systems were activated in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, and Sirik.

A senior US official told Axios that all the targets are in southern Iran and include air defense systems, radars, and drone command and control units.

The Israeli military raised its alert level in preparation for a possible resumption of hostilities with Iran following the US strike, according to Israeli Channel 12.

US officials also told Axios they anticipate an Iranian response to the latest American strikes, one that could target US military bases in the region.
