Israeli forces used phosphorus shells during overnight attacks on southern Lebanon, the country’s National News Agency (NNA) said on Saturday, amid airstrikes, artillery fire, and widespread demolitions.
NNA reported phosphorus shelling around Dawhat Kfar Rumman and Al-Dabsha Hill in the Nabatieh district, followed by airstrikes on the Ali Al-Taher heights near Nabatieh Al-Fawqa and on Deir Siryan in Marjayoun.
Artillery and demolitions also hit towns in Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts, with NNA noting that no homes remained intact in Al-Mansouri, Buyout Al-Sayyad, and Majdal Zoun.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry put the toll from Israeli attacks since Oct. 8, 2023, at 8,915 people killed and 30,543 others wounded as of Aug. 21, including 4,348 killed and 12,307 injured since March 2.
