Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israeli forces would remain in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah was disarmed nationwide, warning of further territorial seizures if the group joined an Iranian attack on Israel.

Under that scenario, Katz warned that the military was prepared to advance into additional areas around Nabatieh and the Litani River, evacuate residents from territory it captured, and permanently incorporate those areas into Israel's security zone in Lebanon.

Katz also presented the campaign as a new security doctrine developed alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, threatening powerful strikes on Beirut's southern suburbs (Dahyeh) in response to gunfire or drone attacks targeting Israeli communities.

He said Israel had established a 700-square-kilometer "security zone" inside Lebanese territory, stretching from the Mediterranean coast to Beaufort Castle, the Ali Al-Taher ridge and the southern foothills of Mount Hermon.

The minister claimed that around “200,000 Shiite residents” had been evacuated from the area and that Israeli operations had destroyed more than 60 Lebanese villages and 23,000 homes. He maintained that the buildings served as Hezbollah positions and that troops had demolished underground tunnels and other military infrastructure as part of an operation, he called Silver Plow.
