Israel and the US had attacked the Natanz nuclear facility again, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations nuclear watchdog, Reza Najafi, said on Monday, describing the attacks as illegal and brutal.

Addressing reporters on the sidelines of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors meeting in Vienna, Najafi added that the attacked facilities are peaceful and under the IAEA safeguards.

Earlier, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said there were no indications so far that any of Iran’s nuclear facilities had sustained damage.

Najafi's  remarks came on the third day of the US–Israeli military operation against Iran, which killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The deadliest reported incident occurred in Minab, southeastern Iran, where a strike on a girls’ elementary school killed at least 148 people and injured 95. Tehran responded with missile and drone strikes on Israel and US military bases in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
