Shafaq News/ The Russian Defense Ministry has started building an air base in the northeastern city of Qamishli.

The ministry said in a statement that it had begun the establishment of an air base for helicopters in Qamishli city.

Russian Defense Ministry said that the base would be protected by land-to-air missiles and three helicopters had been deployed there so far.
