Shafaq News/ The official spokesman of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Mahmoud Mohammed revealed on Saturday, the party's position on the demands to amend the Iraqi constitution.

"We are following with the demonstrations in the cities of central and southern Iraq," Mohammed said in a news conference. "We are concerned about the casualties, both in the security forces and in the demonstrators."

Mahmoud called on the concerned political parties to speed up the resolution of the problems and not to take more time

He pointed out that "there are discussions from some Iraqi parties about the amendment of paragraphs in the Constitution," noting that "the imbalance is not the Constitution, but the way of explaining and dealing with it."

Mohammed pointed out that "if the amendment is in accordance with what exists, there is no problem," stressing that "the amendment of the constitution should not be at the expense of the rights of the people of Kurdistan."
