Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Monday urged Iraq’s federal government to prevent further attacks after drones targeted Prime Minister Masrour Barzani’s office and the residence of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency.
Barzani called the strikes “completely unacceptable” and a “dangerous escalation,” stressing that protecting Iraq’s sovereignty, security and stability, including that of the Kurdistan Region, is a shared responsibility. He called on all sides to work toward de-escalation and an end to regional tensions.
