Shafaq News / The founding member of Movement for Change (Gorran) and its official spokesperson, Adnan Othman, resigned today Tuesday.
This is the second resignation in less than a week as the leader Jalal Jawhar also resigned.
The resignations came after the election of Deban Mohammed as head of Gorran in the regional parliament, after the resignation of former President Ali Hama Saleh.
A source in the Change Movement told Shafaq News agency that Othman submitted his resignation to the movement's coordinator, Omar Sayed Ali, due to the disagreements, which appeared recently following the election of a new head of the movement in the Kurdish Parliament, in addition to the Sayed Ali interference in the affairs of the National Council.
The source explained that the decision-making unilaterally by the general coordinator of the movement angered a number of leaders.
An informed source revealed at the end of last August that the head of the movement's bloc in the Kurdistan Regional Parliament, Ali Hama Salih, had resigned from his post at the request of the movement after he refused to withdraw his signature to interrogate the head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani in Parliament.
Members of the region’s parliament had collected signatures a few days ago to question the regional government prime minister and the Minister of Finance and Economy, who belongs to the Change Movement, against the backdrop of delayed payment of salaries and a reduction of 21 percent from them.
