Shafaq News / The political and security expert, Hisham Al-Hashemi believed on Sunday that the visit of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani to Iraq, which he arrived yesterday, is to fill the gaps caused by the absence of General Qassem Soleimani.
Al-Hashemi tweeted, "Shamkhani came to fill the gaps in the political file caused by Soleimani's absence and the inability of his replacement to accomplish the mission;
- Emphasizing the completion of the task of making the American forces and the international coalition out of Iraq.
- Choose a new prime minister and help the Shiite political house in this regard.
- Activating Iraqi-Chinese economic understandings.
Today at noon, the National Security Adviser Faleh Al-Fayyad met in his office in Baghdad with Shamkhani, and during the meeting they discussed problems in the region and ways to solve them, and the prospects for developing relations between Iraq and Iran, according to a statement of the Al-Fayyad office.
The two sides discussed the political and strategic reality in the region and the impact of the spread of Corona disease in the region, especially at the level of communication between the two countries.
The National Security Adviser Faleh Al-Fayyad stressed the importance of joint cooperation between Iraq and Iran in facing the threat of Corona's disease, as they had previously cooperated in facing ISIS terrorists.
Al-Fayyad added that "the Iraqi people are a struggling and patient people who will overcome adversity while looking for a new political reality through a new election law and a new commission, which contributes to a new start for Iraq in international and regional forums and places it in its appropriate position."
For his part, Shamkhani stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation, especially in the health and treatment fields, to face the dangers of Corona, adding that the Iraqi people deserve stability and that Iraq must regain its regional and international role.
