A roadside bomb explosion on Tuesday has killed three people and injured eight others from pilgrims heading to Imam Zine El Abidine shrine in Rush village affiliated to Bartella sub-district ( 30 km east of Mosul).
The advisory body of Shabak said in a statement reported for " Shafaq News " that " with great sadness and grief , Shabak people farewell today a group of martyrs , after the terrorists planted a bomb on the pilgrims’ road reviving the death of Imam Hussein (PBUH) after their way to the shrine of Imam Zine El Abidine (PBUH) to perform the ceremony in Bartella sub-district . "
“ After this terrorist operation, a number of Shabak martyrs has reached since 2003 to today ( 1298 ) martyrs,” the statement added.
Shabak live in villages and towns located north and east of Mosul city as some of these areas have suffered from bloody attacks that have caused hundreds of deaths and injuries during the past three years in particular.
