Shafaq News/ A protester was killed by a tear gas grenade that penetrated his head, specifically in the face area in al-Khalani Square in central Baghdad, police and medical sources said on Thursday.

In the early hours of the morning, riot police fired teargas at protesters holed up in al-Khalani area buildings.

Another security source said a young man riding a motorcycle carrying a pistol and ID cards was arrested who tried to enter al- Tahrir Square in central Baghdad.

The source pointed out that during the preliminary investigation with the young man , he admitted that he wanted to fire shots in different directions at the protesters and security at the same time.
